Royal Norwegian Embassy / Norad:
 The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) is a directorate under the Norwegian  Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).  Norad’s grant schemes aim to provide development assistance to  international partners to contribute to poverty reduction.  In 2009, Norad’s focus in Tanzania was on  providing budget support to donors, funding environment, forest, and climate initiatives, funding access to energy initiatives, the fight against child and maternal mortality, good governance and anti-corruption activities, and the fight against deforestation.

Royal Danish Embassy / Danida:
 The Danish International Development Agency provides  development assistance to Tanzania to contribute to sustainable and socially balanced economic growth and the improvement of living conditions for the poorest part of the population.  Danida’s strategic framework for 2007-2011 focuses on promoting a dynamic business sector, improving general health conditions, and improving the environment.  Additionally, Danida also supports activities that promote democracy and good governance, improve the road sector network, promote cooperation between Tanzanian and Danish companies, and support refugees and their host communities.

Ford Foundation:
 The Ford Foundation is an independent, nonprofit, nongovernmental  organization that encourages local initiatives in developing countries;  promotes collaboration among the nonprofit, government and  business sectors; and ensures participations by men and women from diverse communities and all levels of society.  The Ford Foundation works mainly by providing grants or loans that build knowledge and strengthen organizations and networks.

Embassy of Finland:
The main objective of the Finnish development policy is the eradication of poverty.  The aim is to reach this goal in an economically, socially, and ecologically sustainable way.  The poverty eradication efforts are based on Millennium Declaration and on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which were set in 2000.  Other main objectives of the Finnish Development Policy are related to the three dimensions of sustainability.  These goals emphasize, among others, peace and security, good governance, climate change and environment. The economical sustainability is focused on economic growth, trade, and equitable income distribution. Finland strives to help her development cooperation partners in reaching the partner country's own development goals and in strengthening a conducive environment for development.

Rapid Funding Envelop:
Recognizing the need for a more rapid process to fund civil society organizations while bigger, longer-term projects are organized, the Rapid Funding Envelope (RFE) was established in 2002 by the Tanzania Commission for AIDS and donor partners. Now that the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, the World Bank Multi-sectoral HIV/AIDS Project, the Clinton Foundation, and the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief are bringing massive support for HIV/AIDS programs in Tanzania, the RFE focuses on filling gaps in technical and geographical support, funding innovations, testing replication, and supporting institutional strengthening.

Sigrid Rausing Trust:
The Sigrid Rausing Trust is a grant-giving foundation based in London.  It was founded in 1995 by Sigrid Rausing to support the international human rights movement.  The Sigrid Rausing Trust runs five programmes:  Civil and Political Rights, Women’s Rights, Minority Rights, Social Justice, and the Miscellaneous Fund.

Tanganyika Law Society:
The Tanganyika Law Society is the Bar association of Tanzania Mainland, founded in 1954 by an Act of Parliament.  The TLS was established with several statutory objectives, including: to maintain and improve the standards and conduct and learning of the legal profession in Tanzania, to facilitate the acquisition of legal knowledge by members of the legal profession and others, to assist the Government and the Courts in all matters affecting legislation and administration and practice of the law in Tanzania; to represent, protect and assist members of the legal profession in Tanzania as regards to conditions of practice and otherwise; and to protect and assist the public in Tanzania in all matters touching, ancillary or incidental to the law.

Futures Group:
Established in 1971, Futures Group is a services and consulting company that develops and delivers innovative, locally relevant, evidence—based solutions for development.  The Futures Group assists governmental and non-governmental agencies, foundations, and the private sector by designing, implementing and evaluating programs in HIV and AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, population and family planning, maternal and child health, infectious diseases, and gender.

Norwegian Church Aid aims to provide emergency assistance in disasters and works for long-term development in local communities.  In order to address the root causes of poverty, the organizations advocates for just decisions by public authorities, business and religious leaders.  Norwegian Church Aid works in over 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Central and Latin America.

One World Action:
One World Action is an international development agency that focuses on democracy, governance, social inclusion and gender.  One World Action takes a feminist approach to development, seeking to challenge all oppression and unjust use of power.  One World Action’s mission is to create the power and opportunity for the poorest citizens to transform their own lives, and to challenge that international policies that make and keep people poor.  One World’s Action’s work has now been taken over by Womankind Worldwide.

UNIFEM:
UNIFEM is the women's fund at the United Nations, dedicated to advancing women’s rights and achieving gender equality. It provides financial and technical assistance to innovative programmes and strategies that foster women's empowerment. UNIFEM works on the premise that it is the fundamental right of every woman to live a life free from discrimination and violence, and that gender equality is essential to achieving development and to building just societies.  UNIFEM has recently been dissolved and incorporated into the newly established UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.

Foundations for Civil Society:
The Foundation for Civil Society is a Tanzanian non-profit company, designed and funded by a group of like-minded development partners, and governed by an independent Board.  The Foundation aims to establish an intermediary support mechanism for civil society organisations in Tanzania which will enable effective engagement in poverty reduction efforts as set out in the Government of Tanzania policies: Vision 2025, the Tanzania Assistance Strategy, and the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP).

IWRAW:

The International Women’s Rights Action Watch was organized in 1985 at the Third World Conference on Women in Nairobi, Kenya, to promote recognition of women’s human rights under the United Nation’s Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (the CEDAW Convention), an international human rights treaty. IWRAW was founded on the belief that the human rights of women and girls are essential to development and that equality between women and men will only be achieved through use of international human rights principles and processes. Since its inception, IWRAW’s program has expanded to encompass advocacy for women’s human rights under all the international human rights treaties.
