Women’s Land and Property rights

WLAC is strengthening Women’s Land and property right to access, own, and benefit from land and other property for their social and economic empowerment, as part of the lesson learned from implementing several projects and strategies in addressing women’s rights. WLAC is aware of the importance of advancing women’s land rights to women themselves and the Community with correct information and messages. It’s more likely to change cultural practices that undermine women’s rights and have community support for protecting women’s land and property rights. Therefore, WLAC is utilizing all opportunities available such as awareness campaigns, community structural systems, and media engagement, to sensitize community members on women’s social and economic rights, focusing on land and property rights. These interventions contribute toward building a sound – informed Community that respects and takes action to safeguard the rights of women and girls in the society.
